Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 41-year-old man, Adeoye Oreyomi, for allegedly chaining his 13-year-old son, Demola Oreyomi, for stealing his N2,000.

According to a release by the Command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect, who resides at No 9, Dokun Street, Ewuga, Shagamu, claimed that the victim stole his N2,000, hence, he chained his hands and legs and padlocked it.

The PPRO said the suspect, miffed by his son’s action, had striped the boy and subjected him to inhuman treatment.

He added that people in the neighborhood who feared that the boy might die from the inhuman treatment, quickly alerted the police at Shagamu divisional headquarters.

The DPO in charge of the division, Aduroja Moses, Oyeyemi  said, led his men to the scene where the boy who was soaked in his own blood was rescued and taken to a private hospital in the town for medical attention. The suspect was also arrested.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

He equally declared that the command will not tolerate any act of lawlessness from anybody no matter how highly placed.
