No fewer than 32 referees from Jigawa STate would take part in the 2017 National Referees Association (NRA) promotion examination.
The Chairman, Jigawa Referees Council, Alhaji Aliyu Baita, disclosed this in an interview, on Monday, in Dutse.
Baita said that the exercise would take place in the second week of August, in Abuja.
He said 13 of the referees would participate in the examination that would move them from Category II to Category I, while 14 of them would sit for the examination to move them from Category III to Category II.
The chairman said the others, who are amateurs, also known as Referees-in- Training (RITs), would sit for promotion to Category III.
According to him, the names of the participants have already been submitted to the NRA head office in Abuja, for verification.
Baita noted the referees would bring honour to the state by being successful in their various categories in the exercise.
He, therefore, urged all participating referees to work hard so as to ensure that they would be successful in the examination. (NAN)
