For many people, Donald Trump’s victory at the U.S. presidential elections came as a shock. 

One very powerful couple, though, knew Trump would snatch the top post almost 30 years ago, when he was a young real estate magnate.

Ex-President Richard Nixon wrote a short letter to the president-elect back in December 1987 after his wife and former first lady Pat watched Trump on Phil Donahue’s TV show.
