LONDON — They (sort of) predicted a Trump presidency, they predicted various technological advances, but — sadly — The Simpsons didn’t predict the 2016 John Lewis Christmas advert.

Following the much-anticipated advert being released on Thursday morning, a jokey tweet about The Simpsons anticipating the advert’s theme — a dog bouncing on a trampoline — began to go viral.
