– The Vice President charged the Super Eagles to go for victory stressing the the Federal government are behind them
Nigeria’s Vice President professor Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday evening November 8, 2016 paid a surprise visit to the training session of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles who are preparing for the battle against Algeria in a 2018 World Cup qualifying match which will come up on Saturday November 12 in Uyo.
The Super Eagles began their preparation for the duel on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Abuja national stadium before the surprise arrival of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who together with his entourages were on the stands to watch the Super Eagles.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo charged the Super Eagles to go for victory against the North African side stressing that the Federal government would do its best to support the team in their quest to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Russia.
”I commend you for your patriotism and commitment to the cause of fatherland by going to Zambia to defeat the Zambians on their own ground for the first time, you have shown your determination to conquer your group and qualify for the World Cup.
”I want to assure you that the government and the people of Nigeria are behind you in your quest to qualify for the World Cup, and we believe that yo will certainly pick the ticket from your group to make it to the World Cup finals,” the Vice President said
While responding, skipper of the Super Eagles thanked the Vice President for his visit and promised Nigerians that the team would not disappoint on Saturday against the Algerians.
”We want to thank you for you visit which is a tonic for us, and we want to assure you and all Nigerians that we will not let you down on Saturday as victory is a must,” the Chelsea player said
The Super Eagles are currently leaders of the CAF qualifying Group B after their impressive 2-1 win over Zambia.
